Phoenix College Alumni Association"Bear Scholars" Scholarship

The “Bears Scholars” Program is the marquee program of the Phoenix College Alumni Association (PCAA). The PCAA and the Half-Century Alumni award the Bear Scholarships to motivated students attending Phoenix College who are in financial need and who have a clear direction of their academic and career goals. Bear Scholars are the face of student scholarships at Phoenix College.

The PCAA Bear Scholarship will pay tuition costs up to $1,200.00 per semester. Both incoming and continuing students are eligible, as well as part-time or full-time students. However, students who have been awarded a President’s Scholarship or Chancellor’s Scholarships are ineligible for the PCAA scholarship.

Selection Criteria – The PCAA Scholarship Committee will select recipients based on: Arizona Residency as classified by the Phoenix College Admissions and Records Office. Completed application submitted by the deadline. Financial need based upon income, receipt of other scholarships and financial aid. Motivation to succeed in the Phoenix College environment and likelihood to complete educational program. Clear direction of academic and career goals. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required at the time application is submitted. If you are attending college for the first time, provide a copy of your transcripts from the last educational institution you attended. Students must be taking the majority of their credits each semester at Phoenix College and have intent to graduate from Phoenix College.

  1. I agree to meet with my assigned Mentor at least twice during the semester if awarded the PCAA Bear Scholarship.
  2. I agree to volunteer for the Alumni Association a minimum of 10 hours during the semester.
