United States Armed Forces Veterans Assistance

The United States Armed Forces Veterans Emergency Assistance fund provides support for emergency items that would prevent a veteran or active duty service member from going to school/completing a degree. This emergency fund can award up to $500 per student per semester and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Support includes but is not limited to:

  • Tuition and fees
  • Required books
  • School supplies
  • Rent
  • Transportation
  • Food
  • Gas
  • Utilities


  • Be in good standing with the College (minimum 2.0 GPA)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours or in a clock hour program at any Maricopa Community College
  • Obtain a recommendation from the College Veteran’s office (processed through the scholarship application)
  • Documentation associated with the emergency must be attached to the application (i.e., utility bill, required book list, auto repair bill, etc.)
  • Complete and submit the United States Armed Forces Veterans Assistance fund Application
