Dr. Larry Soller Theatre Scholarship

Dr. Larry Soller taught in the Speech and Drama Department at Phoenix College from 1966 to 2006, notably under the legendary John Paul at the beginning of his time at PC. During his forty-year tenure, he mentored and inspired countless students, many of whom have gone on to great success in theater and the arts. Dr. Soller directed more than sixty major productions over his career and is a recipient of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Excellence in Education Award. Two of the shows he directed at PC, Simpatico and A Few Good Men, won regional awards in the highly respected American College Theater Festival. Throughout his time as a faculty member, Dr. Soller continued to work as a professional actor, appearing on stage, films and television, with appearances on General Hospital, Young Riders, and made-for-TV movies on ABC television and Showtime.
